We do not lock a feature you were already using in order to charge for it. Remote sessions over ssh were briefly a paid feature and we made them free, because a padlock on something basic stops the people who would have paid.

Your licence key activates up to five machines and you can free a slot yourself from the customer portal when you replace a computer.

- What happens if I never buy it?
- Nothing is taken away, and nothing nags. The dashboard page is drawn with a padlock on it and the ledger behind it keeps filling, so the day you do buy, your history is already there.
- Is there a cloud account?
- No. There is no login, no password to reset and no profile. Your licence key is the authentication, and everything the app measures stays on your disk.
- I reinstalled Windows and it says I am out of machines.
- A fresh Windows install looks like a new machine. The customer portal lets you release a slot yourself — the link is in your purchase email, and Settings → Plan has it too.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes. Fourteen days, no questions asked.
- Who takes the payment?
- Polar, as merchant of record. They handle the card, the invoice and the tax; we never see your card details.
